The 5 best Halloween Sneakers Ever

Rare, accurate, ironic: here is a mini ranking of the most successful releases

With Halloween around the corner, the sneakers community is getting ready for the celebrations by trying to buy one of the “limited editions“, or by dusting off some rare releases from the shoeboxes.

Since ten years, more or less, Streetwear brands launch own “Halloween release”: a tribute sneaker that celebrates the scariest holiday of the year through a coloration, a quote from a cult film or a horror story.

We have compiled a mini-ranking (in random order) of the best Halloween sneakers which in our opinion deserve to be mentioned in recent years

Some of theme are a real “unreachable” release – acquiring an inestimable value over time.

Nike SB Dunk Low “Freddy Krueger” 2007

One of the most successful releases – and a real “Holy Grail” for collectors – is the 2007 Dunk SB Low Freddy Krueger.

Inspired by the cult “Nightmare on Elm Street”, the silhouette is covered in the same iconic shirt as Freddy, the Swoosh recalls the sharp blade of his glove; decorated with abundant splashes of dried blood, on almost the entire silhouette.

Its launch was scheduled for 2006, unfortunately Nike never managed to find an agreement with the film production company, which in turn did not want to give the rights to “exploit” Freedy’s image.
The very few specimens produced are worth – to date – about 30 thousand euros

Reebok Pump Omni Lite “Pumpkin” 2013

The classic silhouette of the Pump Omni Lite became entirely orange in “Jack-O-Lantern” for Halloween 2013.

The premium leather upper with semi-transparent inserts – just like a carved pumpkin and the bright coloring, make it one of the coolest Halloween releases.

Feng Chen Wang x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star 2020

A mix of materials and styles for this Chuck Taylor All Star in collaboration with Feng Chen, where the front part seems to have been incorrectly assembled to the back, in a sort of improvised “cut and sew” and – above all – unstable: ‘Frankenstein effect ‘ guaranteed!

Nike Air Force 1 Low “Frankenstein” 2006

Frankenstein’ was the inspiration for the 2006 Nike release: the acid green color, the red stitches, the shiny upper like the skin of the monstrous character: make this release one of the most ironic and refined of Halloween.

ASICS Gel-Lyte III Alife “Green Monster” 2007

Among the most ironic and accurate Halloween-themed silhouettes, it is impossible not to mention the Asics x Alife Gel-Lyte III: the silhouette takes the form of a monstrous crocodile, complete with scales, eyes attached to laces and sharp teeth.
