Adidas Parley turn Ocean plastic waste into Sneakers

Parley x the Oceans and adidas have revolutionized the world of Footwear

The organization aims to raise awareness of the beauty and fragility of the oceans, to inspire and empower pioneering companies, brands, international organizations, governments, innovators and environmentalists to safeguard the world’s seas and oceans.

The collaboration with adidas – which began in 2015 and was presented at the United Nations on Earth Day that year – has pioneered creative recycling in the world of streetwear and sneakers.

Faced with what is a catastrophe of unprecedented levels, adidas decided to do its part by producing sneakers with the plastic waste that pollutes the oceans, to derive a special nylon yarn that is perfectly suited to the construction of many of the materials in the shoes.

The Parley Pack consists of the iconic models that have made adidas the global brand it is today: the Superstar, Stan Smith, Nice and the Forum.

All models are unisex and made with a yarn upper that contains at least 50% reimagined plastic waste, intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities and coastlines, preventing it from polluting our ocean. The other 50% is recycled polyester
